Church of St Congar, Church Lane, Badgworth - Sedgemoor

The nave and north aisle are mostly C14. Tower dates from the C15. The north aisle is of interest for its good proportions and also the attractive C17/18 thrown lime render external finish to the north elevation. The walls are constructed of lias coursed rubble with dressings of limestone. The surface of the exposed walling in all areas of the church is eroded and spalled but no area more so than the tower which requires urgent attention to prevent further deterioration. A Repair Grant for Places of Worship was successfully applied for in 2011 for repairs, with repairs commencing in 2014.
